The joy is in the giving
01 December 2015
We commissioned our first Christmas gift in 2004 with ceramicist Helen Beard to make small mulled wine cups. She hand illustrated each with a unique drawing of the skaters on the ice rink at Somerset House. These were followed in 2005 by knitted Christmas puddings by Donna Wilson.
We’ve given gravy boats, hand lettered by Alison Carmichael, Spiced Plum Jam and Quince and Rose Jelly by The London Borough of Jam with labels illustrated by Charlotte Trounce, aprons illustrated by Luke Best and a limited run of porcelain plates illustrated by Emily Forgot.
We always enjoy working with talented people on these gifts. The joy is in the giving, but it’s in the making as well!
